Only a written quote binds us, and your print stays yours

We are a small job shop. The person who quotes your job is at the bench, and the person at the bench is who signs the check sheet.

The site explains what we build: welding and inspection fixtures, drill jigs, go/no-go gauges and soft jaws, welded frames, guards and short-run brackets, and repair and reverse-engineered parts. It carries a fit check, an inquiry form and a support chat.

It does not sell anything, give engineering advice you can rely on without a drawing review, or promise a lead time. Lead times on these pages are guidance from past jobs: simple jig 2 to 3 weeks, weld fixture 3 to 5, frames 2 to 4, about a week more for outside heat treat or powder coat. The fit check verdict is a first screen, not a yes.

We take quantities of 1 to about 50, machined parts inside 30 × 16 × 20 in and weldments up to about 72 in long. Past that we will say so and point you at a production shop.

There is no cart, no checkout and no online payment. Sending the form or opening the chat commits neither of us to anything. A number said on the phone or typed in the chat is a rough idea, not a price.

An inquiry becomes an order like this:

1. You send a print, a sketch with dimensions, a STEP or DXF, or a physical sample. We don't quote from a phone description alone.
2. We review it and call with questions: datums, which surfaces are cast, how many, when.
3. We send a written fixed-price quote naming the part, material, quantity, critical features, lead-time estimate and payment terms. It is valid for 30 days.
4. You accept it in writing, by signed quote or purchase order referencing the quote number. That acceptance is the order.

If your purchase order carries its own terms that conflict with the quote, the quote wins unless we agree the change in writing.

Prices are in USD. Delaware charges no sales tax; if the state you ship to taxes the delivery, that tax is added on the invoice. Freight is extra unless the quote says it is included. The figure depends on material, how many machined features carry the ±0.002 in locating tolerance, weld length, outside processes such as heat treat or powder coat, and quantity.

What changes a price after acceptance: a revised print, a changed quantity, a tolerance tightened past what was quoted, material you supply that turns out not to be what the print calls for, or a feature the drawing didn't show. We tell you before doing the extra work, in writing, with the new figure. We don't do it first and bill later.

Payment terms are stated on each written quote. Unless the quote says otherwise, first-time customers pay half on acceptance and half before pickup or shipping; repeat customers with an account pay net 30 from invoice. Material for a large weldment may be billed on acceptance. Overdue invoices may hold the release of further work.

Prints, models, sketches and samples remain your property and your intellectual property. We use them to quote and build your job and for nothing else. We don't show your parts on this site or anywhere without your written permission. If you need an NDA signed before you send the print, send the NDA first.

Where we reverse-engineer a part from a sample and draw it as a DXF or STEP, that drawing is yours once the job is paid. We keep a copy for 36 months so a replacement can be made without measuring again, unless you tell us to delete it.

You confirm you have the right to have the part made. If a print belongs to someone else, that is between you and them; we build what the print says. Physical samples are returned with the finished work or at your cost by freight.

Every job leaves with a first-article check sheet: the measured numbers of the critical features, written by the person who built it. It is a record, not a certificate.

You can collect from 1 801 DAWSON DR, NEWARK, DE 19713 during shop hours by arrangement, or we crate the work and hand it to a carrier. Crating and freight are quoted separately. Risk of loss passes to you when the work is handed to you or your carrier. Inspect it on arrival and tell us about any freight damage or missing items within 5 working days. Workmanship defects are handled under the workmanship guarantee.

Lead times on the quote are estimates. We phone you as soon as we see one slipping. If a job runs late, you may cancel the part of the order not yet started. Lateness gives no other claim.

• No automated form or chat submissions, and no attempts to get past the spam checks.
• No uploading or sending malware, or files meant to break the server.
• No scraping pages or photographs in bulk, or copying them onto another site.
• No sending someone else's drawings or personal details without their permission.
• No probing, overloading or trying to reach parts of the server that aren't linked.
• No pretending to be the shop, or to be a customer you are not.

The copy, the photographs of the shop and its work, the Hadaway Tool wordmark and the site design are owned by Duhadawaytool or used under licence. You can link to any page and quote a line with credit. You can't reuse the photographs or the logo, or copy whole pages, without written permission. Fixture designs we originate for you are covered by your quote; your own drawings are covered in section 06.

We keep the pages accurate, but the site is provided as is and as available, without warranty that it is error-free or always online. Capability figures, tolerances and lead times here are general. The fit check applies simple rules to what you type in and can be wrong for your part. Nothing on the site is engineering advice for your process.

We warrant our workmanship to the agreed print, as set out in the workmanship guarantee. We don't warrant the outcome of your own process: a fixture built to print that holds a part which then distorts in your weld sequence is a sequence question, and we'll help with it, but it isn't a defect.

If something we build is wrong, our first duty is to rework or replace it under the warranty. Beyond that, our total liability arising from a job, in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for that job. For use of the website alone, with no job, it is limited to 100 USD.

We aren't liable for lost production, line downtime, lost profit, scrapped parts made on the tooling, or other indirect or consequential loss. Tooling gets checked on your line before it runs production; that check is yours to make.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else Delaware law doesn't allow to be limited.

We may block an IP address, close a chat or ignore submissions that break section 08, without notice. We may decline any inquiry before a quote is accepted, and we'll usually tell you why: too many pieces, too large, or not something we can measure properly.

After acceptance, either side may end an order in writing if the other breaks these terms and doesn't fix it within 10 working days of being told. If you cancel without cause, you pay for work done and material bought up to that day, and the finished portion is yours.

The law of Delaware (DE), United States, governs these terms and every job quoted under them. Any dispute goes to the courts of NEWARK, Delaware. Before either of us files anything, we talk: one call and one written summary of the problem, with 15 days to answer it. Most disputes over a fixture are a disagreement about a datum, and a phone call settles those.

We post the revised terms here and change the date at the top. Customers with an open quote or order hear about a change that affects them by email. Earlier versions are sent on request.
