- Workmanship guarantee
If a feature misses the print we agreed, we rework it at our cost for 90 days
Every custom welding fixture, drill jig, gauge and frame leaves this shop with a check sheet of measured numbers. The guarantee is simple: those numbers are true, and they sit inside the print. If one doesn't, it comes back here.

What the guarantee covers
The work matches the print or sketch we both signed off in the written quote. That means every dimension and tolerance called out on it and the materials named in the quote. Welds have to be sound too: full fusion where the print asks for it, no cracks, no porosity you can see, no undercut past what the weld symbol allows.
Locating features are where this matters most. A locator we hold to ±0.002 in on the check sheet has to measure ±0.002 in on your plate too. If you put an indicator on it and find 0.004 in, and the part hasn't been dropped or crashed, that's ours.
It also covers the plain mechanical stuff: pins pressed and staying pressed, toggle clamps mounted where the drawing puts them and adjusted so they close on the part, bushings seated square, threads that take a gauge. Hardware we buy in, like De-Sta-Co style clamps or standard drill bushings, we fit correctly. The part itself carries its maker's own warranty, and we'll help you use it.
The rework window
Ninety days from the day the work leaves the shop, by pickup or by carrier. Inside that window, a feature that's outside the agreed print gets reworked or remade, at our cost, including freight back to Newark and back to you.
Most problems show up in the first week, the first time the fixture sees real parts. So check it early. Put your first production part in it, measure that part, and call us the same day if something is off. The sooner we hear, the less of your line it costs.
Past 90 days we still want to hear about it. Wear and damage after that point are usually a repair job, quoted like any other, but if the fault is plainly a build error we'll say so and treat it the same way.
| Fault | What we do | Usual time at the shop |
|---|---|---|
| Locator or pin out of position | Re-machine or replace, re-measure, new check sheet | 2–5 working days |
| Clamp mis-set or loose | Re-mount and adjust, often on your floor if you're close | 1–2 working days |
| Weld defect | Grind out and re-weld, check for distortion, re-machine pads if needed | 3–7 working days |
| Wrong material used | Remake the part in the quoted material | Same as original lead time |
What it doesn't cover
We guarantee our work matches the print. We don't guarantee what your process does with it. A weld fixture holds parts where the drawing says; it can't stop your welder from running hotter than last shift, and it won't fix a sequence that pulls the assembly out of square. We'll talk it through with you, gladly, but distortion from your process isn't a rework claim.
- A print that was wrong. If we built to the agreed drawing and the drawing had an error, the fix is a new quote. We read every print and ask questions before quoting, and we catch a fair number. We don't catch all of them.
- Datums you chose. Locate off a cast or flame-cut surface against our advice and the parts will wander. We put that advice in writing when we give it.
- Normal wear. Delrin and UHMW pads wear. Bushings wear. A go gauge that's checked 40,000 bores is worn, not faulty.
- Damage. Drops, forklift strikes, crashes on a mill, welding spatter on a locator, or someone else's modifications.
- Outside heat treat and coatings are covered to the extent the heat treater or powder coater stands behind them. We pass the claim along and push it; we can't promise their answer.
- Lost production. Downtime, scrap and missed shipments on your side are not something a small shop can insure. The limits are set out in the terms of work.
How to make a claim
Phone +1 (302) 366-0113 or email [email protected]. Send what you'd want if you were us:
- the quote or job number from the check sheet;
- which feature is out and what you measured, with the instrument you used;
- a photo of the setup, the fixture on the table, the indicator on the pin.
We'll call back within one working day. Often a five-minute call sorts it: a clamp spindle backed off in shipping, a part loaded against the wrong stop. If not, we arrange pickup or you drop it at 1 801 DAWSON DR, NEWARK, DE 19713. We measure it on our plate against the original check sheet, tell you what we found, and fix it. You get a new check sheet with the reworked numbers.
If we measure it and it's inside the print, we'll show you the numbers and why. Then we can talk about what's really going on with your parts.
Why the check sheet is the guarantee
A stamp says someone looked. A check sheet says what they found. Ours lists each critical feature, the nominal, the tolerance, and the number actually measured, written by the person who built the job. Keep it with the fixture. It's the first thing we ask for on a claim, and it's the fastest way to tell whether something moved after it left or was never right to begin with.
You can see what one looks like, and where it sits in the job, on how a job runs. If you're weighing a new fixture or jig, the fit check will tell you in about a minute whether it's the kind of job we take.
